Biography:
Dr. Payel Mondal is a researcher in microbiology and bacteriophage biology with expertise in phage isolation, characterization, and therapeutic applications against multidrug-resistant bacterial pathogens. Her research focuses on phage-host interactions, antimicrobial resistance, biofilm-associated infections, and the development of phage-based alternatives to antibiotics. She has worked extensively on enteric and ESKAPE pathogens, exploring innovative strategies to combat bacterial infections through phage therapy and phage-antibiotic synergy. Her research interests also include advanced structural biology approaches, particularly cryo-electron microscopy, to investigate phage architecture and phage-bacteria interactions at the molecular level.
