Adoption of health technology is a critical driver of modern public health improvement, enabling more efficient, accessible, and data-driven healthcare systems. Health technologies include electronic health records, telemedicine, mobile Health (mHealth) applications, diagnostic devices, health information systems, and artificial intelligence–based tools. These technologies improve disease surveillance, early diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and continuity of care, especially in remote and underserved populations. From a public health perspective, technology adoption supports timely decision-making, outbreak detection, and efficient resource allocation. Telemedicine expands access to care, while digital records enhance care coordination and patient safety. However, challenges include high costs, lack of infrastructure, digital literacy gaps, data privacy concerns, and resistance to change among healthcare providers. Public health strategies emphasize capacity building, policy support, interoperability standards, cybersecurity, and equitable access to technology. Guidance from global bodies such as the World Health Organization supports responsible and ethical technology integration. Effective adoption of health technology strengthens health systems, improves outcomes, and enhances preparedness for public health emergencies.
