LGBTQ Health focuses on the physical, mental, and social well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other sexual and gender minority populations. LGBTQ individuals often face unique health challenges due to stigma, discrimination, social exclusion, and barriers to accessing inclusive healthcare services. These challenges contribute to higher rates of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and suicide risk. Certain populations also experience increased risk of sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, and may have unmet needs in sexual and reproductive health. Transgender and gender-diverse individuals may require gender-affirming care, including hormonal therapy and mental health support. From a public health perspective, improving LGBTQ health requires inclusive policies, culturally competent healthcare providers, anti-discrimination protections, and community-based support services. Promoting health equity, reducing stigma, and ensuring access to respectful, evidence-based care are essential to improving health outcomes and quality of life for LGBTQ populations.
